Gigabyte 1GB HD 6850 vs Gigabyte 1GB GTX460

Thread Starter
Looking to upgrade my GPU (purchased an HD 5570 last year as a basic card and giving it away to a friend) so was wondering what would be the better gaming card?

I know there are gonna be some nVidia and ATI fans that have their own opinion but I'm somewhat confused as to which way to go in this case. Honestly I'm not fussed about brand loyalty, just want the best card (at this range).

Cheers!

I'd say Radeon 6850 but I am a Radeon Fan boy. I think for you it would come down to what you perfer and benchmarks.

Both are good cards and depending on the bench we can find one to show either card ahead. I would go for the 6850 if the price is the same. If the price is lower for the GTX460 (and it should be) I would consider it.

I think the best deals going right now are on the GTX460 768 cards

Interesting posts guys, thanks!

Also, the HD 6850 is a big gfx card (well 2x the size of my current one). Will it fit safely in a MicroATX board?
