OCing my x4 40 for games, using FSB and multi so far, what else should I do

Yesterday in BIOS I started OCing my RB-C2 stepping x3 740BE 3.0 GHz --> x4 40

After 2 attempts I've only put it from 15x to 16x, and I put the FSB from 200 to 205, I could keep upping them, but what else should I up at the same time.

So I have 3291 MHz CPU, 1645 MHz RAM, and it games fine, and temps are normal, I ran prime95 for 30min, and I get 44C with CPUID HW monitor, but I guess the real temp is higher since the 4thcore is unlocked(what did I read about that???)

I will try upping just those for now, I have no clue as to messing with voltages yet.

So that puts the HT link to 2057MHz, I think it was 2000MHz default, and the NB freq to 2057MHz...(I thought the HT and NB are the same thing, but in the BIOS the HT can go to 2600, and the NB can go to 6000...whats the info, besides reading for myself?)

Now I can set the HT link in BIOS, but what would set it to, seeing as how it changed on auto from 2000 ->2057

Likewise I could set the NB freq, but I need advice first.

I can also change some PCIe quantity, its range is 100-150, I'm pretty sure its set is 100 when its on auto, but I don't know how that works either, I OC my 5670 to 900/4670 most of the time.

The entire reason I want to OC is to increase game performance, and help get the most out of my little but good 5670.

If im reading your sig right, your cpu is an unlocked 740 to x4 right? If so, Ocing is usually 200-300mhz less than a normal phenom ii x4 overclock. Keep messing with multiplier since its a black edition and you dont need to move the "fsb"(you mean Hypertransport right? Its my understanding that fsb is dead). Overclocking the HT is possible and its done commonly, but its not necessary with a black edition cpu. Make sure temperatures are fine and that ram speeds stay in spec. Otherwise, keep upping the voltage when you get unstable and try to find your max OC. AMD cpus max temp is 62.7 right? I think most people here say stay under 55.

I just tried this at random, and it works

Whats the general rule for getting the best situation to help the graphics card as much as possible?
