i7 950 overclock

Thread Starter
Alright so I'm going for a 4.2 GHz oc with my H70 i7 950 with a GA-X58A-UD3R mb. This is my biggest problem right, I can't get the bclock to 200 MHz whatever I do. I've raised my VTT voltage all the way to like 1.35 and still can't get it to boot up. What do you think the problem there is? Also when I try to use 183 bclock and cpu multipler I can't get intel burn test to run one loop without it BSODing. My voltage is all the way up to 1.38V on the CPU. What should I do now?

Thanks,
MrPanda

What revision of the motherboard do you have? I've heard the UD3R Rev. 1 have problems with the bclock getting passed 180.

But I'm very noobish when it comes to these types of things so...

You may need to check for bios update or set your ram voltage to 1.64-1.66v if that is within it's rating....

When raising your bclk make sure your ram multiplier is lowered to keep you ram at lower than rated speed for right now.Up your ram voltage to 1.65v.Keep your cpu multi at 23.Try a 180 bclk and put your cpu voltage at 1.35ish.

i agree here, i keep my ram underclocked and it allows me to run it at 1.60v, I use bclk 170 x 25.
