Dedicated Folding rig Guru Needed

Thread Starter
So I have been doing some thinking on a new build I wana put together. It would be nice if I could hang with the cool kids on this build. So anyways my mind started to think about my exp with folding and the issues I have ran into and future issues I am going to have with folding. So I thought maybe it would be a good idea if one of the more exp guru could put together a system that will not break the bank but at the same time hold up to massive abuse a ded fold rig takes. Some of the things I have run into with my experience is Heat issues, power, weak hardware componets. I am sure there is still alot more to learn. I just thought this might be a good idea so all a newbie would have to do is save up the cash and then just purchase all the items and have a good system with out the damn-***-son of *****. Thanks guys I am sure most of us have done some homework on new builds that rock. Maybe we can get something custom from overclock.net that could bring a little revinue to overclock.net. I.E. maybe site name in led fan or maybe a cool 3.5 face plate.

I7 rig with at least 3 pci-e slots to put some 450' or 460's.You can get a budget board like a MSI X58 pro.Pretty good overclocking board. Then for cooling get a Rasa Wc kit.

what would be considered " breaking the bank " ? I don't wanna start throwing stuff out there when it might be outa your budget. I have a few ideas....

Considering what you have, get SB and never have to look back to upgrading for another 5 years. With this you can do bigadvs and get some great numbers and have a good upgrade from your C2D

If your only concern is folding then depending on budget a folding farm of 450s might be the solution or a used i7 system.

We need a budget! >.<
