I know the one thing i hate is the whole hdmi handshake when source is changed...example HDTV going to commercials.

I hope Onkyo resolved the weak psu and heating issues it had, that's why i didn't even consider them.
The only HK within my budget is ; is onkyos heating that bad? I dont wanna take any chances, I´m not from US so i cant replace it if it fails, and i don´t live in a cool place, 30 celsius in a fresh day , btw, read HK1600 product info and their focus or emphasis on audio quality sounds interesting... a lot...

Don't like the write ups on the Denon ive read (the 6ohm thing in particular) but it does all the formats and has hdmi 1.4

Like the write ups on the Onkyo haven't found a bad word against it yet....again it covers all the formats and Hdmi 1.4......Don't knowwhat warranty that has on but mine was 3 years, it gets hot, they all run hot as far as im aware. But it hasnt put a foot wrong in a year of thrashing it during the day, and TV through it all night...the one youve shown is newer....I think theve sorted out any overheating by now, and some models had problems with the hdmi card, soldering i think.

Id go with the Onkyo so long as it has a decent warranty...cant you try for 7 days and send it back if u think its pants!
Read comment above, no warranty lol... heat keeps showing up

Sounds awesome so far, just need to do some more fine tuning. Watched 2012 and LOTR and it made my house rumble. Everything is so clear and concise. I can hear stuff I wouldnt normally hear with the standard TV speakers. So far I love it and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.
Any comments on heat?

PS: I´m planing on getting 2x and for now, and add center - surround later. Any suggestions about those speakers? Again thanks all for replies!!

PS: I´m planing on getting 2xBIC America Venturi DV64 and BIC America V-1220 for now, and add center - surround later. Any suggestions about those speakers? Again thanks all for replies!!
Hi as long as amp isnt in a tight space at least a couple of inches free all around should be fine......mines open in a glass n chrome legged tv stand, only about an inch gap above the smp, it's fine thouhg so far..

I havent had any issues with yet. I did out my hand on the top of the receiver and it was a little warm. However, it does have a small fan inside. if heat is a concern maybe try pointing a larger fan directly at it...just a thought. As long as you dont have it stuffed in a tiny cabinet, I dont think heat will be an issue.

Please don't get me wrong, i am not bashing Onyko. I'm just stating the issues they had during my generation of shopping. I'm sure they resolved the psu issue as it caused alot of chatter online and warranty.

For your reference i picked up the HK-av2600 for 580$ canadian, regular 899$, i think they are around that price now, i know the 3600 can be had for 799 when on sale...

i mentioned you should read on the models you selected, since i'm nice i found the following for you

Denon 591
Onkyo RC260
couldn't find an owners thread but there are reference to the 608 which is similar
Yammy RX-V467BL
owners thread
I hope this helps you.
