The Crucial SSD can only write @70MB/s? If that isn't a mistake, then the SF-1222 drive looks much better.

Depends on use.
For reading data (loading OS, games, etc) the C300 is going to be a bit faster (355 MB/sec vs 280 MB/sec) as well as about 10k more IOPS than the Sandforce drive.

If you pull data to the drive over a gigabit network or copy a lot of data from the SSD to the SSD the Sandforce drive would likely be a better option.

Write speed doubles as you move up doubly on the C300 chain.
~70 MB/sec for 64 GB
~140 MB/sec for 128 GB
~210 MB/sec for 256 GB

I have a SF drive in one pc and a c300 in this one. I think the SF may feel a little faster as it does everything fast. 70mb/s write is not that good, but that only really affects installs unless you move a lot of files around.

Either will be nice, and OP you have a board that will take advantage of the c300's 6gb/s speeds.

Installing apps is a one thing event. Reading from them is much more important.

I have tried several different SSD's and my current C300 64gb is the king so far. Insane read speeds on 6gb interface. Have the size in mind too, it's not like you would need insane write speed on such a small ssd. Of course higher speed is better, but if I had to make a choice, especially on low capacity ssd's, I would take the c300 over anything.
