So true. Add me to the list of people who has run ductwork from a window...
sheet of plywood
fit to window opening
insulate with foam board/insulation of choice
hole saw - cut 2 4" holes
run one duct line to intake on case
run other duct line from case exhaust
spray foam (if you want) to cut down on heat loss
i'm sure there are better ways, but that worked fine with minimal heat loss in the house (since it's nearly a sealed system). a single 120mm intake/exhaust is overkill... 3" line and 80mm fan would work too.
though i'm far more concerned with energy waste than maximum overclocks. having a computer fight the AC in the summer is far more wasteful - i'm interested in setting up a duct system in the warmer months to see if i can combat dumping unnecessary heat into my home.
