This is what my upgrade is going to be, I just added the monitor for you.

For you, the SE GPU can be upgraded to something a little better.

That build looks good and the price certainly is right. I'm sure I have a spare PSU laying around somewhere and with a cheap HDD my old stuff would make a great desktop for my mother. Even though it's spending a tad more, in the end I come out with 2 systems instead of just extra parts to take up closet space or try to sell to the lowest bidder on ebay.

Just to clarify, 4gb of RAM seems to be the normal recommendation around here for gaming. Is there any reason why?

So I think this may be it. Based on jason's list with a few alterations. Let me know if this works.

One more quick question before I hit the order button. In the future if I wanted to run a second video card in SLI could I do that with that mobo? I know on my current mobo it supports Crossfire but not SLI. If I search for SLI compatible boards only 2 show up in the 1155 socket and that just can't be right.

That looks pretty good, I'm pretty sure you can run sli on that board as it does have 2 PCI-x slots but they would run at x8 instead of x16 for a single card. I can't really say yes for sure because i have never ran sli or x-fire but I'm sure someone on here will chime in and let you know for sure. Good luck

You might want to look at this ram as it uses 1.5v vs. the 1.65v of the mushkin. Just a thought good luck

I just submitted my order. lol

At any rate this setup should be miles ahead of my current and my mother will be getting quite the upgrade from her 900mhz, 448MB RAM HP. My phone has better hardware specs than her PC.

Oh yeah, great upgrade - that's gonna blow you away, and you can run your GTX260 as a Physx card, and that motherboard will be perfect for SLI later, as will your new platform. THAT is going to blow you away when you get there haha

But you missed a CPU cooler - the stock one will let you OC minimally, but you should throw in a $30 HPT 120mm heatsink/fan like the CM Hyper 212+, Xigmatek 1263/1264 or Corsair A50 to keep your temps down and overclock large ...

What you ordered is a solid upgrade.

My recommendation to you earlier in this thread was for a budget upgrade. Jason did a great job recommending you good parts for a system overhaul as opposed to an upgrade for a couple hundred dollars more!

You will notice a huge improvement in your gaming experience since you are getting a much better monitor than what you were running. And your mom will have a much better desktop in the end as well.

Enjoy!
