Also I'd suggest you not to buy that psu, the cx-series is weak.

Personally, I would. You can also attempt to unlock the cores on the 555 as well. However, you should steer away from flashing unless you know what you're doing.

Listen to this guy exactly, DONT DO IT everything goes out the window and if it doesn't work then say bye to that money coz u cant flash it back not a good idea.

And if u want a 6970 why dont you buy 1 instead of risking a 6950 + it is garenteed to work at those speeds + can overclock higher + its better having a true 6970 then a fake 6970 and more stability

The 500 watt will power your rig, but if you plan on keeping it for another build later on down the line, just get a beefy power supply. It's about the only thing you can buy to future proof your computer because the technology doesn't move forward. Well a case and DVD drive won't move too fast either, but you get the point.

Also that video card is more in the mid-range field nowadays. I'd get a 6970.

If you're planning on getting a second 6870 later on, I strongly suggest you get a better power supply, and by strongly, I mean you better or I'll kill you.

Lolwut there seems to be alot of misinformnation going on in this thread about flashing.

If you do it all correctly, you will NOT brick your card, and I've NEVER heard of not being able to flash back to the old bios.

What sort of logic is that? If you can flash to a different bios, what the hell would stop you from going back to the original one?

I say get the 6950 and flash it.

Well then get a 6950.

If you still can't afford it, then whatever, just settle with a mid range 6870.

It's a great build for the money, and Scan is a really good company, i've had no problems and always next day delivery.

You do know that scan only does next day don't you? And it will cost you another ~£10
