I was wondering if my memory kit from my bloomfield system will work with a socket 1155 motherboard and 2600K cpu. I'll use 2x 2GB modules.

Kingston HyperX DDR3-2000 CL8 6GB Memory Kit
KHX2000C8D3T1K3/6GX

Description: 6GB 2000MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL8 DIMM (Kit of 3) XMP T1 Series
Detailed Specifications: Standard 256M X 64 Non-ECC 2000MHz 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM (DDR3, 1.65V, CL8, FBGA, Gold)

It's DDR3, it will work.
You might take a performance hit due to interleaving since your channels will have an unbalanced capacity. You could attempt to put the IMC in 'Linked' mode, which will treat your entire RAM capacity like it's on a singular 128 bit bus, instead.

These are the memory specifications supported by the 2600k chip supplied by intel.

• Two channels of unbuffered DDR3 memory with a maximum of two UDIMMs or SODIMMs

(for AIO) per channel

• Single-channel and dual-channel memory organization modes

• Data burst length of eight for all memory organization modes

• Memory DDR3 data transfer rates of 1066 MT/s and 1333 MT/s

• 64-bit wide channels

• DDR3 I/O Voltage of 1.5 V

• The type of memory supported by the processor is dependent on the PCH SKU in

the target platform

— Desktop PCH platforms support non-ECC un-buffered DIMMs only

— All In One platforms (AIO) support SO-DIMMs

• Maximum memory bandwidth of 10.6 GB/s in single-channel mode or 21 GB/s in

dual-channel mode assuming DDR3 1333 MT/s

• 1Gb, 2Gb, and 4Gb DDR3 DRAM technologies are supported

— Using 4Gb device technologies, the largest memory capacity possible is 32 GB,

assuming Dual Channel Mode with four x8 dual ranked unbuffered DIMM

memory configuration.

I need 1.65v so that would be a problem. Correct me if I'm wrong.

ive seen reviews say up to 1.65v dram voltage is fine
post #6 of 11
1.6v is supposely the max, but i have read some kits work fine at spec on SB at 1.5v but cant say that it will run @ specs but it will work none the less.

I have corsair dominator 1600 4gb ddr3 @ 1.65v, when i first booted it was running at 1333mhz @ 1.58v. I spoke to intel today and they advised because i'm running the memory at non specified speeds and volts it will damage the cpu. this was there response.

"Dago: 1.65 volts is not supported, this ram could damage the processor memory controller

Dago: You can confirm this information at the following url:

I've found the motherboard qualified vendors (memory support list) list on the Asus website:

1294892457-650.jpg

Almost all the voltages is set to 1.65v or higher. So it seems that running at 1.65v wouldn't be a problem?

Yeah i'm entirely confused about it all at the moment. Intel say the cpu supports mem voltage of 1.5 and only 1066 and 1333, which doesn't seem quite right. While all the reviews on the 2600k cpu show people running memory at 1600 or 2100. The motherboard ga-p67-ud4 says it only supports 1.5v memory but on the gigabyte website under memory compatibility it lists a whole lot of 1.65v mem. :S

Any news about this? Are there any review sites saying that it's safe to run 1.65v?
