If this thread would be in AMD section, you should get more "No!" answers Don't upgrade. You'll better than fine with 1055T.

But then if he waits for Bulldozer, he may as well wait for Ivy Bridge as well. In my opinion, if you're only gaming, then the 2500k will give you a significant increase and is thus worth the extra $100. If you're doing anything like video encoding or folding, don't bother with the upgrade as you won't see much of an increase in performance (if any).

I had the same dilemma. I could have got 350$ for my board and CPU. Since it's like 430$ for the Asus PRO board and the 2500k, I decided to wait. I'll wait third gen processors and Bulldozer and THEN I'll decide.

I'm also in the same boat as you, it'd be roughly $100 to upgrade to a 2600k/P8P67. It would be tough to move my current hardware though, need to get that rep up; cant stand ebay. Hmmm... decisions, decisions.

Too bad you don't have Micro Center... they're offering 2500k/2600k combos with P67 boards for around $275-$300

^^^THIS!

I have a guaranteed sale of my 1055T+Mobo for $200+ (I set the price since I'm building a friend a PC and I can sell my parts to him). Then MC's deal on 2500K + P8P67 is guaranteed to be as cheap as SB's get for at least 5-6 months.

Not only do I get money out of my 1055T, but even when Ivy Bridge/2011/1356/whatever comes out, if I want to upgrade, I'll be able to sell my SB setup for more than my 1055T setup is worth.
