CX-400 Questions

Thread Starter
I have finally broke down and bought the remaining pieces for my LAN rig.

I have:

Biostar TA890GXE
XFX 5770
AMD 955 C3
Mushkin DDR3 1600 6-8-6-24
Samsung DVD Burner
2 x Hitachi 1.5tb 7200

My question is will the extra cx-400 I have handle a mild overclock of the 955 to around 3.6 - 3.8 with the above , or should I use the EA650 from my sig rig?

If you wont be using your EA 650 I'd just use it. Its a good PSU. Got it powering a 5830 and a 955 @ 3.8ghz with 3 HDD's easily.

oh if you have them both already, one sitting around doing nothing, then it will be fine, I figured you were gonna go buy one. Nah, just use the cx-400 instead as long as you already have it.

Thank you for the hasty reply, at work right now and was gonna pull the trigger on a hx-650 if I couldn't make it work.

The cx-400 can pull 30a/360w on 12v. For typical usage of 5770, max goes to 105w. so it should be fine based on what you have.

I'm currently using the EA650 in my main rig, this is just a small setup in a lian li v351 for LANing with my friends.
