UK based sellers?

Thread Starter
Hi all,

After having a look at some of the build logs and with the issues regarding collecting all the parts/modifying them I have decided that it will be simpler and more cost effective to buy a cooler for my first cooler, this will probably change more once I learn more about how everything works and are happier with modifying parts etc.

Where are there sellers in the UK? I have found there is an OCZ cooler on frozen CPU but they are US based:

Are there any in the UK/Europe?

Yeah I found a lil devil cooler on ebay, makes sense as its easier than setting up a site etc

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Phase-Change-S...item415584a041

Is that about right for that sort of cooler?

I now know EXACTLY who I will be asking for a cooler from now I will be looking for a basic external cooler rather than a case with cooler, im more go and no show, so as long as it works its good enough for me lol

What is the highest clock speed you have had a customers rig go to? Would these be good enough for an extreme overclock?

LD makes great units.

Most phase guys do synthetic testing for load to make sure they're good for ALL cpu's in the range they're built for.

I've seen guys using his coolers on 2 and 4 core stuff at serious overclocks with no problems at all.

I haven't seen any 6 core results on LD's stuff but I'm sure it's fine there too.

Definitely 'good enough' for extreme overclocking

Send him a PM about what you want more specifically, and there's a good chance he could do up a more basic looking unit that's more powerful and cold, if you're looking for an extreme benching unit instead of a quiet 24/7 setup.

I'm sure he could build to any need you have for phase cooling

The plan for the overal project (Project Icarus) over in the intel build log forum that I have just started is to see how far I can go without spending mega money on a rig for a crazy overclock.

The Celeron D has been OCed to 8.2GHz, but that might have been done with liquid nitrogen, I want to see what can be done with a cooling system that doesn't dissapear after half an hour lol

I will still have my other rig with my AMD X4 (I prefer AMD) but for cheapness I am going for an Intel Celeron/Pentium 4 system.

With regards to quiet PCs...I have closed ear headphones on lol my X4 has its stock cooler but old school P4 cooler doing 4k RPM cooling it down not too fussed about the noise to be honest, I guess I am going for value/cooling, so even if the cooler costs more than say a high end water cooling system, a water cooling system isn't going to be at -100C

Both little LD builds PC mark is really harsh on the multithreaded tests too.

I can't really afford to run X6s, although they are cool lol the record breaking K10 AMD at the moment is only 7.3ghz, I was taking serious consideration to run an AMD K7 CPU but I think its a bit limited with the FSB settings etc, depends lol

Hey El Gappo

I had a feeling. Just haven't much of any 6 core results on phase for anyone's units.

What's your core temps like running that?

Wish there was more on 6 core temps with phase. Finding a good wattage reference isn't that easy.

Mitch, it doesn't matter much now what you'll use the units with to start. Best thing now is that most are being built with compatibility right up to 6 core load.

So you can use what you have, then when you upgrade you'll know the cooler can handle it

If noise is no issue though, one of LD's Rotary SS models is ideal. More about benching than 24/7 but some really nice temps
