Asus CrossHair Formula IV....

..Would it make logical sense to purchase such a motherboard now? It looks like an amazing board.

But, with the release of Intel's sandybridge and, still awaiting "Bulldozer" from AMD in the 1st quarter, would this be a wise choice or is it better to sit and wait a bit?

It's at the egg:

But I heard some stuff about Bulldozer being on a new AM3+ socket so I don't want to make any early purchases.

Thanks

I'd have thought that it's not a good time to go for a high-end AM3 build. With Sandy Bridge now on the market, AMD should be responding fairly soon. For the money, I'm sure there'll be a better performing setup available on AM3+ for the same amount of money - even if you can't afford the top end AM3+ kit.

If you're going to start a build now, go Sandy Bridge or wait for Bulldozer. Current Sandy Bridge parts are priced competitively with current AM3 parts and SB is a newer architecture, so...

Yeah, wait for Bulldozer. The Crosshair IV doesn't/can't support the AM3+ socket.
