PC is constantly stuttering and jumping

My sig rig is constantly jumping and stuttering.

It will completely freeze for a second and then unfreeze, and repeat, over and over and over.

Sometimes it will be lots of short stutters in quick succesion, sometimes it will be long freezes apart.

Its driving me up the wall, I dont know what the problem is.

Any ideas?

Have you run a chkdsk?

Those symptoms sound a lot like when I had a HDD going bad in my array. It started out stuttering, then temporarily freezing and then started to get BSOD.

i too get this freezing but at the start for about 1-3 mins...otherwise it runs good...it might be due to my old 80gb hdd on which i have installed everything....please see ur hdd indicator when freeze happens...coz mine is like on constantly for the freeze duration....

Nope HDD light is off when freezes occur.

Just had one that last 2 minutes.

Ran a chkdsk and nothing shows up in bad sectors..

Virus possibly? Other than a bad Hard drive it could be a bad cpu or motherboard. Possibly ram too.
