My i5-2500k ($225) vs my 1090T ($230) - Page 12

Hey BTF, I've got a question.

How the hell are you getting such low temps?

Even at idle 4.7ghz@1.375v, I was idling in the high 30's.

Chilled winter water, how do you think my 1090T was running 4.5Ghz with 14C load temps?

I actually had cold boot issues when I first got my i5-2500k because I was unaware of the cold bug.

I don't think you have enough video card power for it to really matter in most of those titles.

Mafia 2 is a best case for you, it uses at least 4 cores, perhaps more. The difference between the two is quite large, some would argue over 60 fps does not matter and I would agree if it wasn't for the fact that average fps doesn't mean much either its min that matters.

BallaTheFeared ,you ve tested only ONE game there.
Every game is different.
I practically asked you to make some tests for those games i enumerated.
I see no reason why wouldn t you make some tests with those games.
Show me some numbers and resolutions.
Make me buy a SB rig to play my games.
I don t care about Cinebench scores , i don t do 3D or video encoding , as most of the PC users don t.

No?

I honestly don't care what you buy. In fact I would recommend against upgrading to a SB chip with your system since the video card doesn't warrant the added cpu power.

I no longer have a 1090T to bench with, however if you find someone with one to provide some comparisons I'd be more than happy to assist.

Just post some numbers without comparing to the 1090T.I want to make a new rig for a cousin with components similar to what you have.

Man, that Crysis w/ 8xAA wipes my system and, while not surprising, helps prove the whole point of this thread. When I get home I'll have to post my results.
