What happened to 1ms access on SSD

post #1 of 8
Thread Starter
i remember before my SSD was 1ms access time,Now its 2..i know its not a huge deal but whats saying that it wont go down even more?...is there a problem here?

btw my SSD is a
OCZ 60GB Vertex 2E

Also ive noticed my SSD is should have the following speeds

Read = 285mb/s
Write = 275mb/s

Why is my SSD falling short?

This is a fresh install of windows today btw.

I do have it set to AHCI in the Bios

You realize it's POINT 2, not just 2. As in 2 tenths of a millisecond.

Definitely strange...
That is a sandforce drive correct?
Did you do this test while running something in the background?

is ur ssd full or near to fulll.....if yes then it can be the cause....ssd's don't like to be filled too much...actually this goes for any storage device.....

Old age ? People tend to get slower when they grow older aswell.

I kid.

But yea... general usage ? Quirky test ?

0.1 is one tenth of 1.0
0.2 is one fifth of 1.0

generally speaking Sandforce drives have around 0.12 or so read latency and 0.23 write latency .... in "AS SSD Benchmark"... HD Tune only has one tenth of a millisecond resolution so I can't say what the averages are... not sure

overall your HD Tune looks fine. if you want the rated speeds, measure in ATTO like OCZ does: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...d-General-Info
