I love steam. I have no idea where my original Halflife 2 disks are. I bought it as soon as it was released and have moved several times since then. Since steam knows I bought it all I needed to do was download it.

I buy the physical copy when I can and the price between it and Steam versions aren't too far apart. I hate having to download an entire game...unless I get it at a big discount. That being said, Steam is great.

Holy crap man i pay less and do more than that on my damn cell phone.

Well not quite but pretty close I use about 2.5gb a month and stream around 150-200k. My data plan is $30 a month.

I kinda think steam is the only thing holding developers to pc.... I mean if it weren't for steam I almost think that the pc gaming community would be going quickly and that there would be no hope to save us from the crappy console ports. Steam works fine too, has good downloads, organizes things well exc I find it a great alternative to desktop shortcuts or a games folder..... I usually throw my non steam games into it so it can launch them so my games are all in one place. I can't wait till steam diversifies to a broader market than games..... Software, utilities exc. I think it would be a great tool and could kick the crap out of apples app center if they play their cards right.

Make a Steam backup file. Select the 4.7GB size. Burn those backup files to DVDs. Why do you need an iso specifically?

Why?

Why don't you just install Steam onto your secondary HDD? I have a whole 640GB HDD dedicated to games, including Steam. No need for Steam backups.

Pretty much this...

I'd rather install the game off the disc and then activate it on Steam...
Steam downloads take forever, but that is also contributed to my download speed.

Man...
I remember when Steam was limited to just their Source games lol

One thing I really like about Steam is not having to deal with reinstalling the games. I have a partition just for games on one of my hard drives and it's nice not having to re-download or reinstall any of the games.

One thing I dislike about Steam... you can't activate all games on it. Not a real con with Steam, actually it's more of a wish, it's just that Steam is so awesome that even if a game is cheaper by other means (retail, D2D, etc), I kind of have to weigh the option of paying less or pay a little more for AwesomeSatisfactionaryAmazinglySimplicity of Steam
