Why Is It That Some Game Require The Dreadful Steam - Page 7

I don't care what kind of DRM is used, I hate it all. When I buy a game the game is mine. I don't rent it from a corporation, I don't want to be connected to any kind of server nor do I ever accept any form of activation limits. The physical disc or copy is mine and I will play it with or without Internet. I don't care about any law nor do I care about EULA's.

Anyone who disagrees has the right to rent their car from whomever they're buying it off or phone up when they want to start their car more for the fourth time. You wouldn't do it with your house, car, clothing, or toothbrush but everyone's thrown their rights away when it comes to games and software.

I hate Steam and I hate GFWL and refuse to use either.

I do agree steam isn't perfect, but I now run all my games through it, and best of all, if I loose a steam game disk I just redownload it, but I agree that a iso would be must better but I still get my games this way. All in all I hated it at first, now I love it, its a app for the internet age.

I hate steam to. I would much rather go home put my disk inside my pc and play.

The times when i rely on ideo games the most is when my internet isnt working. Thanks to steam i cant play when the internet is down..

I love steam, but i don't agree with that one bit. If i bought a game from a shop, it's because i want it retail. If that happened to me i'd return it.

thats why i dont play my copy of civ5, i REFUSE to play the stupid game because of that crap. It was a gift so i cant complain but i was so happy to get it and then find out its a steamworks game so its just wasted.

if i buy a game on steam its because it was on sale, i hate to pay full retail price for a game only to find out i must use steam i get pissed.

Anyone who disagrees has the right to rent their car from whomever they're buying it off or phone up when they want to start their car more for the fourth time. You wouldn't do it with your house, car, clothing, or toothbrush but everyone's thrown their rights away when it comes to games and software.

Nothing you said applies to steam. You don't rent a game from steam, when you buy it it is yours. You also do not need to be online. You can activate the game online but from then on you can play in offline mode (unless the game is specifically an online game, but then what does steam have to do with it?).

There are also ways to activate the game without using the internet. I believe it can be done over the phone.

You, Sir, have no idea what you are talking about...
