Why has Nvidia stock gone up about 30% in the past week? - Page 2

Don't forget about Dirk Meyer's resignation of AMD. That might also have a role in Nvidia's stock price rising. You know what happens when an important figure resigns his position? The competitor gets the better overall value, in this case Nvidia.

Yea they're about the same. The performance step is equally large for both from previous gen, pretty disappointing but i guess the next generation coming should be better for both.

The reason is because they announced they are building their own CPU, that uses ARM

What Duckie said. Investors love certainty and loathe uncertainty. Nvidia assured their stockholders of how they can make money in the future.

Bingo. This is/was the single reason for the stock upswing.

Which is meaningless, because the fickle shills of the trading desks will drop them into hell without a second thought if they get even a grain of news they don't like.

One thing to keep in mind, large moves are almost never due to sustainable fundamentals.
