Corsair H50 vs Thermalright IFX-14

Thread Starter
I've been using an H50 but I recently bought (due to good deal) a Thermalright IFX-14 w/ backside cooler. I'm trying to find any temps that compare these two but I've yet to find anything really. Can anyone help me sway one way or the other?

PS: plz don't say "try them both" =P

I'm pretty sure if the IFX 14 is lapped it will put the smack down on the h50.

I've heard from a few sources that lapping doesn't actually give any real life benefit. Well I guess I've heard it both ways ><'' But I have seen some insanely low temps on the ifx.

Out of all the coolers, the one that gets the most benefits is the IFX 14, it was before Thermalright gave a damn bout the base.

If done right lapping usually yeilds 3-5c. You also have to compensate having 2 perfectly flat surfaces by using significantly less TIM. If you lap ur CPU and HS and us the same TIM as a concave surface your temps will suffer.. There is a fine line when lapped of the amount of TIM to use.

It made it on digg... :/

Man invented ducktape for good reason, use it to support the weight! In all honesty I don't think it will rip your mobo in half unless your dropped your case haha.
