It's an Alienware M15X

i7-820qm
4gb ddr3
gtx 260m
1080p
500gb hdd

I'm thinking if I choose to do it I will keep my SSD.

thoughts? thanks

Your current system will completely overpower it in every way possible.

Laptop's Points:
-Slower
-Less Gaming Capability
-Less comfort whilst playing
-No upgrade paths at all

Your current system can be upgraded to Bulldozer, Tri 580s, 32GB of RAM, 10TB storage, but the most you can do with that laptop is at it's peak when you find the most powerful i7 for it.

By the way, look at the clocks of that i7 and then compare it to any other desktop.
(Turbo Mode won't do much to save it)

depends. do you like to go over to friends houses to stay there and game it up?

If so then yes you should trade it if your not looking to run max settings, i love mobility so i would probably trade my rig for this

nvm that cpu is slow lol i wouldnt do it unless you really want mobility, but also have him give you some cash

Unless your always going somewhere, and are rarely at home, or just want the mobility of a laptop, I would not upgrade the graphics card would be an extreme downgrade, and you would lose your SSD and 500GB of hard drive space, not worth it in any way.

Unless you travel a lot, don't even consider it. Remember the battery power, max load it will drain fast. IMHO keep your sig rig and upgrade if you want.

Thanks for all the replies. Got me back to my senses. My significant other wants me to spend more time at her house and away from my other significant other (my computer). I'll buy a console and backpack it back and forth or something. Maybe just get a M11X to feed my urge for something new.

Thanks again. Thread can be closed. Obviously a dumb question.

console if you really do travel alot, M11X or Asus G series if you want PC and like the keyboard
