I need PacketTracer for school, and have ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop. when i ran the .bin file it gave me an error that the architecture was not compatible. is there an easy way to get around this?

Cheers

So is it a deb package or a bin? If you go into a terminal, you can force an install with something like:

dpkg -i -f /path/to/package.deb

Is there a way you can download the source? Or is there a PacketTracer5.3_1_generic.tar.gz you can grab?

or install ia32 libraries
Code:
apt-get install ia32-libs

I could have gotten the flag wrong. Go into dpkg -h, dpkg --help or man dpkg and see what the proper flag is for forcing a 32bit program in a 64bit OS.

Extract to wherever you want, cd into PacketTracer5218/bin and run ./PacketTracker5 or just cd into PacketTracer5218 and run ./install for a more permanent installation.
