Are these temps ok? - Page 2

Here is a shot from everest with no usage. The cpu temp never goes above 40c no matter how long I run prime. Is it that or the cores I should be worried about.

Pls confirm you are using the Scythe HS or stock sink?

You also appear to still have your power settings activated in BIOS. Can you pls deactive them so we are not getting confused with different voltages and temps.

Thanks.

Your Vcore is good so thats not an issue. Nothing else is jumping out at me as to why your temps are high.

Can you run a CPU stress test and post the load results please. Idle temps dont mean a whole lot unfortunately. If you start approaching > 90c, kill the test.

Ive never been a fan of push pin heat sinks. They just cant applied enugh pressure to the die plate. Im beginning to think that the sink is not in good contact with the CPU - even though you have reseated numerous times.

I will do that now. It is very hard to see but I think you may be correct about the contact. It just does not look flush and tight to me. Is there a way I can run screws or something? Thanks for you help BTW.

This. I'm of the mindset that anything that is too easy to install will not perform optimally. I was getting better temperatures in my case with stock cooler with the same CPU at idle and lower temps at load.

Something aint Kosher here man. Have you tried taking your side panel off to see if temps get better?

Also what's your ambient temperature in your room. Ambient temp has EVERYTHING to do with the performance of your cooler.

Hot air in= Higher temps.

You know what I would try before anything else. See if the clips are properly seated. Sounds stupid and simple but I found out that with my stock heatsink one of the posts wasn't clipped in all the way and my idle was nuts. Pressed all them down again and voila. 33* idle and 75* max.

I understand you reseated many times but this is something that may have to do with some crap sitting in the mounting hole or maybe a burr on the plastic post. Something isn't right here.

My room is not to hot. I am in maryland so it is about 35f outside and we keep the heat at 64f. My room is a normal sized single family home room. So that is not a problem I believe. Side panel removal nets the same results. Probably because I have a 120mm fan blowing in on that side panel.
