Interesting. My 8800GT according to GPUz is a G92. With the stock cooler on my 8800GT, even stock. On load, temps would be around 80C while folding. While running OCCT, I'd get like 90C. and that was with the fan @ 100%. Noisy and pretty warm. Now on load I get 52C while folding with the Accelero.

Sounds like my 8800GT ^^

G92 runs hot as hell, but it can take the temps (Had had my GSO's at 112C each for more than a week straight)

Is there any after market coolers out there for these things? I've got them clocked pretty high and they handle it great though
Zalman had something that fit, as did the Accelero 2 I think(?) I know my brother has the Accelero on his 8800GT and he runs it passively at ~40C load. As for me, the only cooling option has been water I have two each of the EK and Innovatek blocks. The Innovateks were aluminum, first loop I ever did, and corroded/were so restrictive out of the box, that I went to the EK's and never looked back. I have some ded 8800's if you're interested in more, I may see about baking them. I was running SLI until a week ago when I switched to a 570 and dropped one in for Physx. Also great folding cards, I saw ~7k avg @ 775/1950/1000

GT92GTS' like lower temperatures all around the card, not just the GPU and the vRam.

I think I did that run with the stock fan turned up to 100% at first, and it wouldn't be stable. So I had put two 1900RPM slipstreams on top of the card (just plain putting it on there with something to space it out a bit) and ran them full speed. Then it was stable.

With two of them in SLI that's going to be a bit trickier though
Good to know they are still good cards though. The PC downstairs still has one combined with a Q6600.
So sexy it Hz

Also is messing with mem clocks worth it? I've got mine at 1k and haven't touched them.
I believe that GTS gets more voltage by default, but mine is not a good unit anyway.

I got scared when i heard that overclocking 88GT memory to over 2000mhz could cause early deaths (don't remember the reason why), so i decided to keep it at 1950mhz.

My idle temp is 37'C and load 53'C.

And to correct myself: It's VF900 not VF700 that i have.

8800GTS 512s are 9800GTXs, so yeah... they're not bad. 2 of 'em is a 9800GX2 which, for raw framerate, was beating the GTX 280 until drivers matured IIRC.

Yep, I have two of them, both 320Mb and still working. I sometimes SLI them just for teh lulz and experiments

I still have one of these hanging around my house, I'm gonna plug it in and see how far I can get it tonight. It was at 750/1100/1900 last time it was being used.
