Best case fans?

Thread Starter
What are the best case fans, around 120mm - 140mm, that have the best ratio of CFM but are not ungodly loud? Like Deltas, IMO, push alot of air but aren't worth the noise.

And, will replacing all new 60+ CFM fans to my NZXT Tempest Evo make a REAL noticeable difference in overall temps?

In my experience the best 120mm fan in terms of noise to airflow is the Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1450rpm model.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185091 Very quiet and moves a goodly amount of air.

I will recommend you really quiet 120 mm fan with very good CFM:

Arctic F12 PWM

RPM: from 400 to 1500 depending on the temperature
Noise Level: 0.5 Sone or 30 dBA
Airflow: 57 CFM or 96,8 m³/h
Bearing: Fluid Dynamic Bearing

Thank you, I'm going to chekc them out on Newegg.com, hopefully they have some LED versions!

Now, my main question though, from your guys experience, and I seek an honest response,

..is the 30+$ or so I will spend on these cans fans, that is, will I honestly notice a temperature difference to justify the amount spent on the fans? I will probably buy like 3 or so, I mean, the most important are the front intake and rear exhaust correct?

So, do the temps drop alot?

Before 5 days I put 3 80mm Arctic PWM fans and the temps get down with ~5°C ot the CPU and ~7-8°C on the Motherboard

After going from my last computer to this one, but using the same 5670, this computer is (not right now though, I turned on 2 case fans and turned up the CPU fan for prime95) very quiet.

The PSU is very very quiet, and the TX3 at 1200 rpm is very quiet.
It made my 5670 crazy loud when I'd have to crank it up for games.

Also my super loud WD 640 is can be very annoying when there's next to no fan noise.

Keep that in mind, fans can be too quiet sometimes, and make other things too loud.

There are things you can do to quite down noisy HDD's. Dont go blaming the fans b/c your case resonates when your HDD is spinning up!

I just changed over to Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm. Quiet and blows quite a lot of air for the sound level.
