Who has their phone overclocked? - Page 2

I wouldn't really recommend doing any huge OCs on a desire. They have issues with the mainboard overheating. I sent mine out a month ago and just got it back yesterday. Small OCs are ok but remember that your phone runs off of passive cooling and wont be able to disperse heat very well.

I'm running Oxygen 2.0 (TEST) which should be the last RC-Test ROM until the full one is released

Not really, I don't bother with it because it's a battery drainer, And I don't think you will see any massive performnce increase's with the Wireless N unless your transfering files from the Desire to a computer

Its not the speed that's my problem, its that I can't get half decent wifi reception anywhere in my house. I'm in my room right now (2m away from the router) and it keeps dropping my connection due to lack of strength

I have a desire running CyanogenMod 6.1.1. Just downloaded SetCPU to try it out and i'm seeing great power saving possibilities. Set the max at 800Mhz, wondering how much juice its got left at the end of the day.

Just saying in case you decide to flash a new kernel. You could try and find one that UVs your CPU. That would save a ton of battery life.

Same phone, same rom. Set CPU is better as a battery saver on oxygen, the extra speed from an overclock is simply not needed. on the sense roms I found overclocking to 1.2ghz (even 1.3ghz)helped greatly though. It really depends on the kernel you use and how effective underclocking is though.

Another thing, has anyone noticed any battery improvements with oxygen compared to rcmix hd? I seem to get ~4 hours less than what I did on rcmix hd. Apparently the display is using a crapload of power (~80%), is the automatic brightness messed up by any chance? BTW I'm on the amoled desire.

It is ridiculous on battery life, but then again he is building it from the ground up pretty much so I'm sure that it'll be fixed soon. Someone posted an update for oxygen a couple of minutes ago so I'm gonna flash it as soon as I download it
