Who has their phone overclocked? - Page 5

Usually, after a day battery is down to 30%-40%, with the 245mhz profile, it is still about 70%-80%. Fantastic saving actually.
Eh, I overclock my Nexus One and don't use any of the profiles. I didn't find any significant results (more battery life) because when I look at my battery stats, the CPU was barely used in comparison to browser use, music, voice, etc.

The kernels have a bigger impact on your battery life than SetCPU. Not sure what you guys do with your phones, but my phone easily lasts 24+hrs on a full charge. If you really want to increase your battery life, change the update intervals on your applications down a setting or set to manual and use less widgets (assuming you have like 7 screens filled with icons and widgets lol).

Food for thought on other Android stuff

OC depends on Kernal for sure, try a custome kernal

I will echo what has been said before, the OC isnt a game changer, but the UC/UV is definitely nice for Battery Life

My N1's battery breakdown always lists the Screen a highest use, as all my apps are on manual update
This question might be dumb, but does a dimmed screen that turns off and idles over night use less power than a maxed screen that turns off and idles over night?

I have my N900 running at 1.15GHz, which is apparently the max stable clock. Stock clock is 600MHz, for reference.

Also, parko, it is possible to overclock Symbian phones, to varying degrees of success. Some releases are easier than others, the easiest are older ones. I don't know if anyone's successfully overclocked newer Symbian^3 and ^1 releases. I believe overclocking the 5800 only requires editing a text file and setting the clock, although it won't save between boots. I haven't tried yet on my N8, and probably won't.
