Quick question- won't boot into windows with high OC. - Page 2

Yes! That did it! I've got a validation and a screenshot!

Major props dude. I'd have your babies if I could, but I guess a +rep will have to suffice.

How did you know to do that? I figured lowering the RAM timings would make it more unstable...?

LOl are you stable? Im not gonna lie, when I read your first post, and saw your C2 Athlon II CPU, and CM Hyper 212 cooling, I thought no way. But hay, if it worked it worked, congrads.
ram stability is important for overall overclock stability ram is generally the most stable at stock timings. glad it worked out for ya. can you get into windows with that overclock with the fourth core unlocked?

Well, I see you also disabled 2 of your 4 cores, o well, your there I guess.

Yeah, that kind of felt like cheating, but I saw at least one other Athlon II quad like that in the 1GHz thread, so I went for it. I'm about to try with all 4 though.

Define "stable"? It got through a super pi 1m run, if that's what you mean, but it's nowhere near 24/7 stable...haha.

edit: booted into windows with all 4, but it's not happy...can't get CPU-Z to open. Imma throw a little more voltage at the RAM and see what happens. (Gigabyte says it's safe until 1.7V, so I'm not too worried about it)

what are your vcore, cpu-nb, and ram voltages at now?

try 1.55, 1.35, and 1.65 and see if you can get a validation

It refuses to boot with the CPU at 1.55 :/

However:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1592114

CPU-NB is still at 1.3, even. I believe we've found where this system like to be tickled?

I'm about to try it with both memory sticks. Fingers crossed.

Get cpu at 4.0GHz
CPU VCore at 1.52V
DRAM @ - 1.72V
1599MHz @ CL9
NB upto 2700-3000MHz
HT keep around 2000MHz
CPU-NB @ 1.35 or 1.4V
NB @ 1.28-1.3V
CPU/PLL 2.5V

Try this

I can't do 1.51...my board goes in .25 increments. :/

I'm happy with where it ended up, though. I'm going to post my results and call it a night...I'm ready to shut the window and turn off the A/C, haha. It got down to 12F/-11C outside while I was doing that, though it's up to 18F now. I still can't feel my toes.

Thanks again for the help man...I definitely couldn't have done it by meself.

edit: I may try for 4GHz at some point, but I'm done for the night. Even if my rig can take more, my toes can't.
