clock for clock a 470 is gonna thrash it, but due to its high stock clocks its a competitor...
This card did two great things... gave us an affordable well scaling nvidia card below the 300 dollar price mark... which will certainly have a similar affect that the 460 did with prices and competition between amd/nvidia
opened up everyone to get some amazing SLI dx11 cards for dirt cheap... ie: GTX 460 @ $150 or less...
Im sorry, the 560 looks great, but for the price... its not the best deal yet. (obvi b/c its new)
2x 560s are likely gonna cost ~ $500+
2x 460s currently can be bought for ~< $300
at matching clock speeds im willing to be the difference in performance is only ~7-10% tops.. (considering 460vs 470 @ similar clocks was around 15%+ difference)
If its got headroom like I think its going to have, a pair of these will smoke a 580.
When these comes down to GTX460 Prices in 6 months I will likely be picking up a pair... its so much more price affordable to sit 3-6 months behind the most recent tech and trade up every few months... new stuff is crazy op for the minor performance gains most of the time.Edited by rmp459 - 1/13/11 at 6:36am
