Edit: Deal is back with new code and rebate form

Newegg has the Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARS 2TB 64MB Cache HDD for $99 - $10 Promo code EMCKJHE85 - $20 MIR for total of $69.99 shipped.

The rebate is also good for up to 5 HDD and the Promo code is good for all 5 (so you can get 10 TB of drives for $350 after rebates).

Old Rebate form (if bought before 1/16/10)

Glad I saw this. Was going to get a 1.5TB WD green drive before, but seeing as this has a mail in rebate to make it cheaper then it in the long run, well... More space is more space.

I hear green drives are not very good for RAID due to their power management; but don't quote me on that.

the green drives like to spin down to save power, they take about 5-10s to spin up again when needed

they also have variable spindle speeds, 5400-7200

but for the price/size they are very good, not the best preformance tho

So black is better?

I have 3 of these drives at home, 2 for Back-Ups and 1 for a Media Player. They work great, performance is not good enough for gaming though. They average about 75 MB/s Read 65MB/s Write.
