Well that's what I was getting at, yes. For some people, especially existing PSP fans, the increase in graphics power may be enough to justify a large form factor. No argument from me about that, different strokes for different folks. But for me, and a lot of others, it's just not enough...it's just more of the same, I already have
HD gaming on my iPhone; so graphics alone aren't enough to dazzle me anymore when the games themselves won't be or play much different than existing PSP titles.
But the 3DS does bring something completely new to the table: glasses-free 3D. That is a game changer, and could easily be the biggest thing in portable gaming since the Lynx brought us color on a portable unit! This is enough to generate interest in even traditional non-gamers, I would think, just like the Wii did. If it weren't for all of the warnings about "don't use the 3DS if you're under 6", and "don't play for more than 30 minutes at a time", I might think this could take off like the Wii did, and I would be buying Nintendo stock! But those warnings do raise some serious red flags on how widely the 3DS will be adopted outside of the existing gaming population.
