ASUS PX58D-E Tri-SLI or Tri-Crossfire set ups

Thread Starter
Has anyone been able to Tri-SLI cards on the ASUS PX58D-E boards inside a case? Due to motherboard layout, all cases that I have seen do not have enough slots on the back of them to hold a 2 slot videocard.

I would like some space between my Cross Fire cards, but I just can't seem to fit them in any cases that I have seen. It also appears that the videocard would hit the top of the bottom mounted PSU.

Anyone found a way to do it?

I know that a corsair 800D should work, i have a tri-sli + physx + sound card and it can all fit. my bottom card is hanging on the last pci slot there is and is attached to the bottom slot and the exhaust is going out the vent.

The 800D could possibly work, but it might have a problem with certain ATI cards due to DVI port placement.

As for other cases, various Lian Li's have 8 slots.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112159 has 10! and costs as much as a AMD 6950. Wow. Good news is it would house the Mobo without problems AND since the PSU is at the top, it wouldn't bump into any cards I placed there.

But $300 is a LOT for a case. Guess the question is how bad do I want space between the cards?

Thanks for the info. I wasn't even sure that the Asus MB would allow me to put the card in the bottom slot due to all the power/reset/usb/HDaudio plugins right below the PCI-E slot.

Hi,

With this board your going to have to play games with Sata cables and
front panel wiring with 3rd slot filled.
Not use the Q-connector.

Can't run 3rd slot with my case without dremel work.
And have to lower my PS. 7 slot case, tall PS.

Will run at 16x-8x-8x 3 slots filled. 16x-16x-4x or 16x-16x-CF.
Lanes can be configured in the Bios.

Top card will run hot with 1 and 2 slots filled.

Other than that like the board as to ease of Bios OC.
360.3 cooling now and adding another 240 up top this weekend.

Pic of stacked cards.

Later
