700D_W/C Questions (parts installed)

Thread Starter
Im about to drop some coin on a setup to cool my CPU and 2 GTX 470s, but before I do that I thought I would run my parts list past the much more knowledgeable and experienced members of this fine establishment. Suggestions and comments are much appreciated.

Proposed Setup

EK-Supreme HF CPU Block

EK-FC470 GTX470 Blocks

EK-FC470 GTX Backplates

EK-FC Bridge DUAL Serial

EK-FC Link GeForce

XSPC RX 480 Quad 120mm Radiator

Swiftech MCP 355

XSPC Laing DDC Top

Phobya Radiator Grill

Bitspower G1/4" Matte Black Compression Fitting - 1/2" ID (3/4" OD Tube)

Bitspower Z-Multi 250 Res

PrimoFlex Pro LRT White Tubing - 1/2in. ID X 3/4in. OD

My main concerns have to do with the choice of pump, and the EK bridge. Is that pump sufficient for this or would a 655 be a better choice? Also the EK Bridge comes in either serial or parallel, which would be better suited for this? Again your suggestions are much appreciated!

Cheers

355 is better suited for longer/more restrictive loops because of higher head pressure. As for serial vs parallel, I'd go serial, most prefer it and with only CPU, 2x GPU and 1 rad, there's not really enough restriction in the loop to see a benefit out of the parallel setup. The compressions are great, but I switched from compressions to clampless and love it. I went to 7/16ID over 1/2 fittings and it's great. You'll need hot water to soften the tubing and slide it on, but it's pretty permanent and looks much cleaner in my mind! Plus the 3/4 compressions are massive. Radwise it looks good, although you'd probably be fine with an RX360 and not have to buy the grill and mod the case, but if you want to cut into it by all means Looks great, let me know if you've got more questions!

Here is what I got from your build:

You have a 480mm rad in the 700D so you are either planning on mounting it externally, or doing some modifications to make it fit because the 700D only has 3 fan slots up top stock. I assume you are modding it because you have the radiator grill, and the only reason you would need that is if you were cutting out the existing parts of the case.

In all reality you could get away with a 360mm rad and some good fans, which would remove the need for any modding. Worst case you could just add a 120mm rad to the loop later if you wanted better temps.

Your current pump will work perfectly for the build and shouldnt have any issues with the restrictions. The 655 would work as well, but is not needed. The pump top is a good idea, and if you are sticking with that 1/2" tubing is needed.

If you wanted to save some space you could use a pump top/res combo, or you could use a bay res/pump top combo, but in reality that is all down to what you think looks the best and wont effect performance.

Good choices for your water blocks, no complaints there. The backplates are more or less for looks and dont do a whole ton, but they look good.

I cant really comment on the sli bridges though, seeing as how I have never used any of them, sorry.

Thats about all Ive got, in general it looks like you have done your homework and it is a good build. Good luck.

Thank you all for the suggestions! Im sorry I should have mentioned I was totally planning on modding the case to fit the 480, mostly for future proofing, I plan on keeping this case for awhile. Plus Id rather have a little more rad then not enough. I also plan on just running distilled water and pt nuke or a kill coil, not a big fan of dyes.

I initially though of using a bay/res/pump combo but I like the looks of the Bitspower res a tad more.

I thought it was obvious with the Phobya grill? Btw, you can get Primochill tubing off Amazon for cheap.

Sometimes I think I shoulda stuffed in a 480 rad in my 700D too hehe...

Was on my list for the build in my sig, but I decided to stick with the 360 at the last minute to save some cash. The grill was going to be practically as much as the rad at ~30-40 /~60!

/ot

@OP, looks like it's going to be a fun build, and the 480 will handle anything ou throw at it...
