Well its been a long time since I did my last build.

but alas, my X-GF that was living with me stole everything i owned (long story) and I need to build again.

budget is much smaller unfortunately haha $1,500.00 or less= great

Going to be using strictly for gaming, WoW, Black ops, BFBC2 etc

I'd really like a SSD but thats not in the cards for my budget at the moment, I figure I'll pick up and start with a 1TB drive and later this year get a SSD after some of the 3rd gen stuff comes out and use the 1TB drive as media storage. /cry want SSD now

(going to go buy CPU today for $100 less than whats linked) so thats part of whats accounting into budget.) im about $150 over budget at the moment including the cheaper cpu but I can't find it in me to change anything, more than willing too tho if there are better & cheaper components

things I want to have are
4-6gb memory (Whichever will ultimately be better suited for purpose, I know I have 8gb listed) was the best value/price/timings/latency combo I could find) probably didnt look hard enough tho haha
I7-2600k
looking to overclock, but not massively, anything between 4.0ghz and 4.5ghz should suit me fine, so maybe I can step down on the cooler? I'm not certain if said cooler will even work with this chipset/mobo from what i hear..it should.

Oh and I'd like the HAF X to stay cant really find a different case that i like as much with equivalent air cooling

I was really thinking I want the RoG Asus board but thats just going to be too expensive and to be honest I don't know if/think I'd really benefit from it (just a cool board) haha, but I could maybe even get by with just the step down from the deluxe? the pro? IDK guess it depends on the differences (I'm motherboard and Ram illiterate) going off the best of my knowledge in this scenario

I would like to SLI in the future but may not and if I do it will only be 2 cards in SLI and not 3

if there is something in here that is not really a major benefit to me I guess it needs to get lowered, If I could get the build down to about $1,300.00 I'd be in alot better shape but I'm stubborn, I guess I'd rather wait another week or two and save the extra $200

I think thats it for now I'll edit or post later if i missed something.

Thanks for your input and time guys, I can't afford $ to mess this build up haha.

Edit: oh also I wish I could sneak a blu-ray drive in but thats so far down the list that will have to wait, I don't even own a blu-ray anymore (stolen heh) so it can wait until after the SSD I figure.

Edit 2: I'd have to double check prices but maybe I could find a cheaper 570 with a slower clock and overclock it to roughly the same(I have no idea how to overclock a GPU though at this moment atleast heh)

Edit 3: also I have a question regarding SLI, I know to SLI you cant mix/match cards like crossfire but how "matched" do the nvidia cards have to be, what if they dont sell the identical card 9months from now? will just any other 570 do?

Looks good, now do you need the deluxe?? Also for ram, I use 2 sticks of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-141-_-Product

This will knock them down to 51.99

Honestly I'm not certain that I need the deluxe vs 1 step down

I pretty much went with the theory of well..theres a reason this is +$ and in the future I may just find out why.

I think I'd prefer 6gb of ram min unless someone tells me 4gh is more than enough for my intended purposes or if 6g-8g will actually hurt my performance I know to much is bad for you haha.

well get 2 of them for 8GB.

You can save $115 if you make the following changes and then with only $15 more, you can get a nice 60GB SSD. Having an SSD is such a nice upgrade, I would highly, highly recommend doing something like this:

PSU: Antec TP New 750W - saves you $25 compared to that Corsair ($50 if you do the rebate)

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X 4GB (2 x 2GB) - saves you about $50 compared to that 8GB, which you don't need at all for any games

HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB - saves you $15 with the promo code compared to the Caviar Black 640GB and the Spinpoint is as good if not better than the Caviar Black. Plus, 1TB for less money than 640GB. Duh.

That's an equally good PSU, more than enough RAM, and better HDD for less money. There really is no justification for not getting an SSD and paying more for things you will not need at all. You're basically getting the same system you have in your post and an SSD for $15.

Strictly for gaming?

This is me telling you that 4GB is "more than enough for your intended purposes."

Are you asking if the cards have to be from the same manufacturer? They do not.

Also, excellent choice on the HAF-X. You will love it.
