Flash videos crash the display driver if the card is overclocked (100% stable in every game, flash videos crash it instantly). Knocked a a point off for that. Down to 8.

Lastly, until 10.5 there were severe problems with screen flickr in multi-monitor displays. Almost RMAd my card until i found out it was a widespread problem. Knocked a point off for that.

So...7/10. In games 10.11 is 100% fine, 10.12 wouldn't allow portal or mirror's edge to run.
Not to spam the thread with multiple replies, but I just read through this and had all of these issues. You were much kinder than I am about it though. In addition, when I was running my 5870 at stock clocks, flash videos caused artifacting all over the place. I know that disabling hardware acceleration is a quick fix, but I shouldn't have to. Quite frankly, having paid almost $200 just to jump ship because of driver issues justifies a 4/10 to me.

I voted 1/10, I couldn't get my 5970 to run stable with any drivers.

+ new drivers usually downgrade performance.

i voted 8.
when i had my HD4890 i used the 10.5 one because 10.6-8 made me loose performance.
i cant really comment on any newer drivers because my HD4890 died and XFX RMA'd me a BAD BATCH 4890! those butt holes.
artifacted at stock speeds. it even made windows show some miscolored pixels!
but i do like the 10.12 drivers. thats what i used when i got the RMA. cant really say any performance increases because the card was a piece of crap

but the new layout is nice!
btw i never had any issues with ATi's drivers and any fanboy who says ATi drivers suck will be ***** slapped!

I voted 10.
I've had this card for more than 2.5 years now and I've tried almost every month's driver without a single issue.

I know I'm one of the lucky ones.

I voted 5 because half the time my 5850 works like it's supposed to and half the time it does not.

Every few hours I have to run Driver Sweeper then reinstall 10.10 because it runs VERY VERY slow after a few hours of gaming. In the game I play the most I get a solid 91 fps and it never dips even when the action is most intense. Then when my card decides to act up I get 13-20 FPS in the same game. I always run my card stock... I’ve never tried to overclock it as a matter of fact, and my CPU overclock is stable. 14 hours of Prime with no errors. I've tried every driver from 10.4 - 10.12 and none of them keep my card stable for more than a few hours. I tried everything from doing a fresh windows install, to completely disassembling my rig and putting it back together, and still I get poor performance. I'm getting a green card next.

What's this about disabling hardware acceleration? Might be a fix for me. I'll google it now, thanks.

Right click flash-based frame, click disable hardware acceleration. Watch as you suddenly don't feel like tossing out your computer while doing something as menial as watching youtube clips. For me, spending $400 on a GPU only to have to disable flash-based hardware acceleration is just retarded. How is it that AMD can't get Flash right? Come on.

PS, let me know if it does work for you. It'd be nice to know that I helped.

Flawless Victory. Thanks a lot. Now i can click "enable overclock at windows startup"

But like you said, we shouldn't have to do that.

4 Series was very good.

However iv had nothing but problems since i moved to the 5 series. I give it 4/10.

ATI could improve their drivers by changing the demographic who uses them. If a million people can get a stupid email virus, then a million people can mess up the install of their hardware drivers.
