I voted 8, primarily because, i have had occasional issues, For example when i was trying to test a 460GTX for a friend because he couldnt get it to work in his rig, and Windows & kept restoring the ATI drivers, even though thats not really ATI's fault but still. Also i would like CFX scalling, not better per se but more consistent, in the sense that in some games i get 20% more, while in another i get 95% more performance, i would jsut like all games to scale around 80%-90% and be about the same. But other than that i'm perfectly happy wiht ATI Drivers.

7. Good performance, but I completely hate the Catalyst Control Center. They lack so many features in that, for example, in nvidia's control panel it's super easy to set specific graphics things per application, in the catalyst, you have to have profiles when you want to play said game with say forced max AA. It's ridiculous. The CCC is an impossible to use pos.

Oh yes, it's everyone else. Couldn't possibly be ATI's fault that their drivers are inconsistent. When people are going back by 8 versions (10.12->10.4? I see it all the time) from your latest driver because they have to look for a stable driver for their card, you're doing something wrong. I don't see half as many "which driver version gives me stability in X piece of software?" threads in nVidia's driver forum as I do in the ATI forum. I mean, I'm using beta drivers on my GTX 570 and it's more stable right now than my 5870 ever was on any officially released ATI drivers. That alone speaks volumes of the process ATI uses for producing drivers.

I should say (in hopes of preempting fanboy accusations) -- I liked my 5870, a lot. The card handled gaming great, but I was asked what I thought of ATI's drivers, not my 5870. I liked the 5870, hated the drivers.

7/10

the whole "ati drivers suck" is kinda overexaggerated.

i mean, yeah, there's some issues but they are annoyances more than anything.

My biggest gripe with ATI drivers is the fact that for serveral weeks I was forced to use the 10.8 driver instead of the 10.12. It wasn't until recently I was able to use 10.12 after 3 clean installs of windows 7. Also, the support from the company was below PAR. I was simply instructed to use the older driver (was running poor FPS on 10.12, it simply is unacceptable).

You don't have a score low enough on your charts. Its a true shame the driver support was so poor for so long, 5870 was my first ATi card, and I will never ever buy another ATi/AMD video card.

I know lots of people have no issues, so this is my own experience. I went for months (3+) without being able to play a single game, and that is unacceptable by ANY standards. I was the proud owner of over 3x 5870s, and not once after I installed any of the latest Catalyst drivers, did I have a good experience. Its a real shame because ATi has impressive hardware, and despite which, I will never own another card on principle.

On a side note, after a while I started using Von Dach's custom Catalyst drivers for more stability and surprisingly, high performance.

When I first used a trifire setup it was a nightmare. I had to roll back myself but then I found my problem was caused by a corruption within windows from failed over clocks.
