Why is my i7 860 OC different than yours - Page 4

Hello again guys,

I am zeroing in around a safe overclock of about 3.94ghz and 1.37 volts. I am curious if you guys change any settings in LinX or Prime95 when you stability test. I have changed the amount of memory LinX uses but I don't really know what I'm doing. Prime I've checked round errors or something.

Also do you know of a good guide that will help me bring my ram back into the equation? It's downclocked now but I want to bring it back to its rated 1600mhz (C8)

Matt

wait to do the ram until the cpu is stable. this way it can be eliminated as the cause of instability. if you get errors in prime it means you need more vcore.

ok will do. And small FFTs with Prime for CPU? Also to stabilize RAM do I kinda pick a frequency and start adding Vdram?

I am a little worried about this part.

Thanks AliceInChains

Personally, I took my back up to RAM up to stock and left it.

Watch your timing when you get to it though, I thought I had left mine at stock (8,8,8) but when it went 3MHz over stock frequency, it dropped all my timings 1 to (9,9,9).
