Will my corsair 750w handle a 5870CF?

Thread Starter
Thinking of picking up another 5870 for CF. I have a corsair 750w. I am overclocked, running 4 hard drives and an optical. I think it may work but it would be cutting it close. What do you guys think?

Very fine. Even HX650W handles 5870 CF Do you have HX, AX or TX750W? TX is the orange and HX is the bluish. HX is also modular. AX is black.

750TX, I was curious because I looked at the Newegg PSU calculator and it recommended a 1000w unit.

they are just wanting to seell you a fancy overpriced PSU that will be way overkill.. you can run a GTX 580 tri sli on 1000w thats running frumark and prime95 at the same time as well, 650w is way more then enough so your TX750 is great (same psu i have as well )

For typical use, one 5870 max is around 190w. If you Oced i7, then may take up to 180w depending on speed and voltage. Corsair 750 series psus should be able to do mini 60a/720w on 12v so it should be fine for CF based on what you have.
