Will my corsair 750w handle a 5870CF? - Page 2

Psu calculators always overshoot it. I think its because they assume you're gonna buy a junk brand.

I have just recently upgraded my PSU from a 650w silverstone psu to a 950w corsair tx psu. I have a very similar rig to yours. Use this Antec calculator http://www.antec.outervision.com/ to check your system requirements.

Your psu will run the cards and your system but it will be running at about 85-90% load which will draw quite a bit of power (not efficient) and may be noisy. You will also have to consider that a Psu's power degrades over time. How old is your power supply?

You know that the PSU calculators are completely overrated. they always give you a number that is too high. why would a PSU company give you a lower number, they want you to upgrade, not keep your old stuff.

And you also know that 950Watts is complete overkil for you sig rig. you only need like 650watts or 700watts at max.
