CPU Fan Mobo Header

Thread Starter
I currently have almost my entire loop installed in the case, my question is exactly what is stated above: What do I plug into the CPU Fan Header on the mobo? All 8 of my rad fans are going to a fan controller along with the pump. Thanks for the help!

There should be a 3 pin header on your board called "SYS_FAN" - I believe that's the standard, correct me if I'm wrong

Yes, the header says SYS_FAN, and I didn't think I needed to plug anything into it, but just wanted to double check. Thanks for the help!

If you have an open fan header, you must install another fan. It's the law of aeromaniacs.

But really, like others here have said, unless you have some feature that makes it a problem you don't have to put anything there.

You don't have to.
Your mobo might bother you with a "No CPU fan" error on POST, if it does there should be an option in the BIOS to disable CPU Fan monitoring.

I plugged my pump RPM wire into the CPU fan port. Then I went into the BIOS and set it so that if my pump dies it shuts off the PC.
Saved my butt twice already.

355 pump. Molex for power and then a RPM wire.
