Plan for new system

Hello all,

I am just looking for some input on my plan for liquid cooling my new system.

I have a i7 980x with an asus r3e and 2 sapphire 6970's.

Here are the parts I am looking at:

4x X-Flow Black Ice Pro III High Performance Radiator
Danger Den RE3 Full Coverage Block
EK-Supreme HF High Flow - #1 CPU Water Block
EK-FC6970 for AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6970 Series - Nickel/Acetal
HOT *** XSPC Acrylic Tank Reservoir for Laing D5
MCP655-B pump
Bitspower Black Sparkle Y-Block Fitting and will attach a coolant temp sensor to it
16x fans using Cooler Master High Performance SickleFlow 120mm and I will use shrouds on 3 of the rads using 3 fans per rad
All fittings will be barbed and i will be using 1/2" id with Tygon clear tubing.

The one key question I have is which is better to use copper or nickel?

Copper can become discolored eventually. Besides that, there isn't much of a performance difference, although nickel-plated blocks typically cost a couple extra dollars.

Another question now that I have been looking at other rigs throughout the form. Would I get much benefit from having 4 rads or is it a waste of money?

If you are cooling just your CPU and 1x GPU, then no and it will be a waste of money. You just simply wont tell the difference because your components is cooled enough with 1 or 2 rads. If you have a quad fire set up with motherboard and cpu watercooled, then yes as you will see the difference.

I would recommend you reducing to 1 or 2 high quality rads like this:

swap out the pump for a 355 + xspc top (or you can put the pump in a XSPC bay res designed for DDC pumps)

Get some GT15s or some yate loon fans instead of the cooler masters you have listed.
