I dont have any first hand experience with software overclocks but I would assume its because you can't adjust settings like voltage... Unfortunately, the only way I think you could overclock is to get a new motherboard... maybe some others can chime in and help.

The only way to get anything decent out of that CPU will be a new mobo. Sorry, but HP computers/BIOS are the Antichrist when it comes to overclocking.

if i buy new mobo should it be 1 like this http://tones.be/shop_product.php?idx=108186

its a G31TM-P35 Micro ATX from msi
but i dont know what the best thing is to do then
buying a new mobo for my q6600 or change cpu to then like a i7 but its more expensive and maybe unusless for what i do on pc(mostly gaming but somthimes vid editing)

Where do you live?
What is your budget?
What exactly do you need the PC for?
When do you plan on upgrading?

The Q6600 is a fine processor... unless its your doing heavy video editing or cpu intensive tasks, you shouldn't need to upgrade. As for that mobo--well, I would go with a Gigabyte/ASUS board for overclocking. The P35 or P45 series will be good for OCing the CPU.
