Hardly the worst thing you could have done, but again pointless, and there are still potential issues. For instance, perhaps the AC ripple might feed back and cause issues? Not enough of an EE to answer that myself, but it's something to consider. Also consider that the 700W alone would be more than ample.

How would this increase stability?

If the ripple of one PSU is 80mV while the other one is 90mV.... In the worst case when they peak together, you add them together to get 170mV. Your PSUs now fall out of ATX PSU specs.


I have a CE degree so I am not that knowledgable on SMPS design but there are feedback circuits. You never want to electrically tie two PSU together. Any EE student should realize this....
