P.S. I have seen the same 1.15v for safety issues, but I don't see 1.18 killing a card that quickly.

that is exactly what i have seen and thought myself, which is what made me think it may have been faulty to begin with. 16 hours should be fine. and my temps didn't go above 76C.

Lol, you should be a doctor working in a cardiology ward. I got a rich frail uncle who could use your umm opinion.

EDIT: yes it probably shouldn't have crapped out on you but you really did put it through the ringer.

You cannot just arbitrarily pump voltage into electronics and expect good things.

16 hours isnt the problem.... people fold on cards all the time....
16 hours at voltage over the max recommended.. yea that might be a problem.

yes, it would smoke, from overheating. not from overvoltage. the overvolt is the indirect cause but the reason for the break is the heat.

My computer shut down in the middle of Crysis, and when I started it back up there was no display. I tested the card in 2 computers other than mine, and got the same result. the only thing that happens is the fan turns on.

Check my post again Jae, I edited it.

12v fan running 24v != 1.15v core running at 1.188v either.

I see people on HWBot got the damn thing up to 1.5v with LN2 pisses me off because the scores blow away my chinsey air cooled 580s.

Well since you tried separate computers, this does sound like physical damage. I don't normally recommend RMA, but I would consider doing so without any delay, just get it setup and out the door, quick like a band-aid.

1.188v is way too much for 76C.

The more voltage you dump into a chip, and the higher the clocks, the colder it needs to be to be reliable.

For example, I can keep my GTX480 below ~60C with 1.15v and thats about as far as I would go at the temps I'm getting.
