Hello all, my question...

I have an old scanner that's incompatible with windows 7, and recently took it apart to make a light box out of it for some animation work I'm going to be working on.

My question is, I ordered a 12volt dc 4-pin adapter and wanted to run dual 12" cold cathodes into the scanner to provide the lighting. Would this be possible without some sort of modding, they say the cold cathodes are grounded at the second pin but the adapter is grounded at the first pin. Would there be some sort of work around.

thanks
