LLC with fixed multi requires more voltage to be stable at idle than turbo + LLC. My computer spends most of it's time at idle so I figured LLC is a good idea to drop idle volts a bit.

Btw lapped my 2500k, will post pics later today. There was big valley between the edge of the IHS and the center. I'll post results once the paste sets (ic7) to make it a fair comparison to my last run where the paste had almost 3 weeks to set. I'm seeing about a 5c to 2c improvement depending on application so far. Not bad considering it was free =P still had all my sandpaper sheets from when I did my 965BE quad.

Oh and **** the warranty sozo.gif

true but offset voltage + eist will also drop multi+ voltage at idle at 1600Mhz and ~1v

I would love to do that, except my turbo is broken. 10% less gpu performance when OC'ing via turbo. With those two options you listed however, if I set voltage so it loads in prime95 at 1.45v, while web browsing I'll actually be at 1.48v...................................... that's unacceptable lol.

If my turbo wasn't broken, I could be stable at 1.43v. I only use 1.45v to be stable at idle. But prime blend passes 8 hours with ease at 1.43v. I used to have all power saving enabled with LLC it was tight. But it was robbing my 3dmark scores and frames in games. Then again its a very isolated incident that no one has been able to reproduce I think. I'm gonna go cry in a corner now, peace.

1.42v in bios, 1.488 underload in CPU-z
batch# - L040B208
MSI P67A-GD55
Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600 CL8
Watercooled

2 Questions-

1)Does everyone's temps fluctuate heavily in Prime95? As you can see from the screen, my temps were below 60c at the time of the screen but the got as high as 72c on the hottest core. It was weird, it would go to ~70 and sit there for 15 mins, then go back to ~60 and sit there for 15 mins, the back to 70, then back to 60. It seemed to change every 15 mins.

2)Is there anyway to actual load at the voltages set in BIOS? I set my vcore voltage to 1.42 but it was at 1.48 underload.

Anyway, let me in -

1) Yes it is normal. In P95 Blend, the smaller FFT tests drive the temp up higher than larger FFT tests.

2) Set LLC to Ultra High in the BIOS to minimize vdroop (difference between idle vcore and load vcore). Voltage at load should be fairly close to what is set in the BIOS this way.
