Should we use blend only or small fft too?

Figured I'd take the plunge and start my first club.

Rules.

1. 1hr blend stable run. This is still by far the only program that TRULY stresses the imperfections of this chip.

2. MUST have a screenie WHILE UNDER LOAD with your OCN name, CPU-Z 1.57.1 and realtemp 3.67 ONLY!!

3. List your overclock, voltage, ram, cooling, and Batch number.

Cpu-z 1.57.1 download link: ftp://ftp.cpuid.com/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.57.1-setup-en.exe

Realtemp 3.67 download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?n99nq4kn95u6i6a

Prime95 link: http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/download.php?fh=84aa92208050bf61b75f20c454fd87a7

Other than that, show me what you got!!

This may also help some of you with stability.

The OverClockers BSOD code list
BSOD codes for overclocking
0x101 = increase vcore
0x124 = increase/decrease vcore or QPI/VTT...have to test to see which one it is
0x0A = unstable RAM/IMC, increase QPI first, if that doesn't work increase vcore
0x1E = increase vcore
0x3B = increase vcore
0x3D = increase vcore
0xD1 = QPI/VTT, increase/decrease as necessary, can also be unstable Ram, raise Ram voltage
0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances
0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency or uncore multi unstable, increase RAM voltage or adjust QPI/VTT, or lower uncore if you're higher than 2x
0x109 = Not enough or too Much memory voltage
0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU)
0x7E = Corrupted OS file, possibly from overclocking. Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r

and for all of you with GB mobos you should read this;

Plenty, but not is this thread, go find them.

Imagine that, two last gen i7 owners with quick remarks.

I don't know why you would want to compare an i5 to an i7. In things that don't require the use of HT, SB is faster.

I've only compared benchmarks of interest to me, which are those on HWbot. Things such as wPrime, Super Pi, 3dmark; SB is faster clock for clock. The comparisons I used were at 4.5ghz, something which I can do easily on my 920 and easily on the 2500k.

Just find these sandy bridge cpu's a lil weird , dont get me wrong im sure they are awsome .. Wish i had one but i dont think you can call it an upgrade from the 1155 platform ...Ivy bridge yes . As stated the only appealing thing is the fact you can clock them upto 5ghz but thats only cosmetic and a great marketing scheme for intel to make some money while they work on the release of ivy bridge cpu's =) 22nm here we come .

My board hasn't arrived, and neither has my memory... You can believe I will be in tomorrow, IF ups can get their chit together. As you're an AMD'R I guess it doesn't really matter to you though huh?

Prime 95 is a pretty big step on 5GHz, I hope nobody kills their chips on beta bios of a new platform trying to do this.
+1

P95 is a killer on this platform for some reason. I wish someone smarter than me (that's at least half the population) could explain this phenomena. Used to be Linpack was the killer on the 1366 platform, now it's the other way around ?

confused.gif

edit: Even harder on the 2600K with HT on.

Added, #2 on the list.

That is one reason I edited the rules for linx or ibt.

Linpack is a binner for Intel. Once someone releases an updated linpack binary (you can just replace the old one with it in the folder where linx.exe is, no need to get a new Linpack front end or anything), then it should be the best possible stress test for the new chips as well.

I had to open my window though, I saw 49C and didn't like that, after it was in the window temps dropped to 36C highest core.

Um.... nice clock.

well...

Basically, the 2500K is like the I7-920 with HT off, pretty much an unfair comparison.

Weren't there separate lists for that on the 1366 platform.
