Use the download link in OP to update your CPUZ.

I may have found the ONLY fix, haven't tried it yet tho.

QFlash wont even work it just says "invalid bios image" every time

Can't get a hold of a boot drive atm.

But I honestly don't think flashing is the problem.

Quote:
0. Restart, and go into BIOS.
1. Load optimal defaults (change IDE -> ACHI/RAID, and boot order)
2. Boot into OS.
3. Flash to latest BIOS via @BIOS. (in my case F6b)
4. Load optimal defaults (change IDE -> ACHI/RAID, and boot order) DO NOT change anything else!!!
5. Boot into OS, then restart.
6. Press Alt + F12 (REALLY QUICK after one-another) at the same time when you see splash screen. (May take a few reboots of trial and error to get to next part.)
7. Hit enter, or w/e, and Flash the F6b BIOS as backup BIOS.

9. Now it should not flash itself back to F2. It will now never give a checksum error nor reflash. (im assuming it will flash back to F6b).
Edit: Oh My Gawd!!! Finally after 10 literal hours of troubleshooting, THIS HAS FIXED IT!!! Flashing the backup BIOS tells your mobo that it doesn't ever need to reflash since the backup is the same as the loaded one!!!

So far I have successfully booted into 4.8GHz 5.0GHz!!! where-as anything above 4.6GHz was non-existant and resulted in a bios checksum error!!!

This has seriously brought reflexive tears to my eyes.

This is my face:

Can't get it stable at 5GHz tho, even with like 5.5v XD so im going to exchange it on amazon for a new one.

I think at that very second, when I clicked validate, it was. I had my max voltage set to 1.5v. I have not disabled anything. C3, C6, HT, SS....

I have to admit, I went straight to 50x100 and increased my max voltage to 1.5v and just ran Prime 95. My temp was smoking hot on 2 cores at 90-96, so I shut the test down around the 20 minute mark.

I hardly have any spare time. I really wish I did so I could figure out the settings to be stable 24/7. I am starting to think that there really is no point in it for me since I cannot even enjoy this beast, compared to my old one anyway.

+95c is too much. It'll throttle - you won't damage your CPU but you will effectively not have an OC that works as it should.

i agree...if it was around 70 to 80 tops...that should be alright

but 90 is just way too smoking for an OC....try to shoot for 70 75...whether its playing with your settings or changing your cooler

Working on getting my 2600K stable at 5Ghz now. Just passed the 22 hours mark with Intel Burn Test at Extreme My hottest core tops out at 82*C. You think that is a good temperature?

I really don't understand why people have such a view on temperatures. It throttles at 95c for a reason - it's a good deal lower before real damage starts to occur. The only difference it will make when it's colder is how fast it's able to run. But at a 15c difference (75c -> 90c) it's rather marginal.

This.

Any benchmark program will run your CPU MUCH hotter than any game or regular program.

Its safe to say that on average, it will probably be a 20c difference b/w a benchmark and a game/program.

If can get 5GHz and still reach 85C then that is fine and acceptable.

At most you'll ever see it reach in real world performance is 65C.

Of course this all changes if you BOINC or something like Folding, but that is a whole different scenario.
