Cooling tower

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I have just made a cooling tower and I was was wondering if it is working fine.

It is 5 feet high and 4" wide.

I have a Ph II x4 at 4GHz 1.49 vCore, NB 2600 1.3v and my max temp are 44C on full OCCT load (it stabalize after 30 min and stay on this temp as long as I keep it on).

Does that sound OK?

Thanks.

Sorry, but I am not that used to forums yet...

The waterblock is a EK Supreme LY Nickel, and the pump is a noname fishtank pump 900l/h and 1.8 m water height. It was designed to be submerged, but a little bit of epoxy and hop, out of the water!

Attachment 190094

EDIT: don't mind the mess lol!

Either I am not used to how cool AMD chips run, or thats some damn good temps for 4.0 at 1.49. My Q6600 on water at 3.6 with 1.40v runs at 65-ish with LinX (Linx does more stress though so more heat)

Well, with Linx I hit 50, but I believe AMD's run cooler than Intel: factory says the max temp is 62C and, anyway, from 4GHz and up, when I go over 55C, I got a blue screen..

The bong is nice, but it "drinks" over 1.5l/day...

Well those temps are not bad. I got 44c max load with 2 gpu's in loop during summer 80-90f in room. What are your ambient temps and how powerful is the fan you are using because you generally need a fan with a lot of static pressure for best results. As for the water loss... that's a lot, I lost much less on mine. im not sure exactly how urs is built but you could take a peak into my bong guide (in my sig) maybe there is something that might help u?
Good luck, and nice to see some more bongs in use. (oh i suggest a fan filter if u dont or you will be doing a lot of cleaning.)

Hi Motoray, thanks for the tips.

The fan I use is a standard 92mm HSF.

My ambient temps are around 24/25°C.

I used a piece of woman panty as filter , but it brakes the airflow too much...

EDIT: sorry, but I am really not familiar with Fahrenheit...

EDIT 2: well, mine looks much like yours... the res is much smaller (around 3l), an the bong itself is a bit more than 5 feet high.

Well, finally, I lowered the bong to 3.5 feet, and kept my radiator in the loop. Results look very good:

OK well if you want a fan that wont care u pretty much need a ultrakaze prolly 2k a 3000rpm might be too much but the 2k should be sufficient pressure/flow. Could you post pics of shower head n such.
